WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Dan Bishop (NC-09) voted against President Biden’s debt ceiling raise that would enable Democrats to fund their radical $5.5 Trillion tax and spend spree:

“This evening, I voted against raising the debt ceiling by another $480 billion. Democrats had enough votes to raise the debt ceiling on their own but wanted Republicans to sign off on their blank check to pass their $5.5 trillion ‘tax and spend’ package. Moreover, this vote contained no plan for spending reform so that this does not happen in the future. I refused to go along with it,” said Rep. Dan Bishop.

Raising the debt ceiling would pave the way for President Biden and Democrats to fund their $5.5 Trillion socialist spending package, which will increase taxes on Americans and unleash their radical agenda on the country. With the reconciliation tool at their disposal, Democrats have enough votes to raise the debt ceiling to fund their plans, without the help of Republicans. Right now, Democrats control the House, the Senate, and the White House, the fallout from their disastrous agenda remains solely on them.
