Bishop Visits Richmond, Co Companies Making PPE

June 19, 2020

HAMLET, NC—Congressman Dan Bishop (NC-09) visited Richmond County businesses that have started to produce personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

"When it was clear our nation's nurses and doctors needed more protective equipment to treat those with coronavirus, Richmond County businesses stepped up," said Rep. Bishop. "They altered their factories to provide frontline healthcare workers vital PPE to keep them—and their families—safe. I applaud private companies across North Carolina contributing to the American effort to overcome the coronavirus pandemic."

Congressman Bishop toured Burlington Industries, Enviva and the Plastek Group in Richmond County. Each facility has switched partially to manufacturing and producing the vital equipment to keep our frontline heroes safe, including masks, face shields and gowns.
